Direct Support funding is intended to help First Nation communities build capacity in the areas that they need it most.
A total of $1.5 million has been allocated for direct support in 2019-2020. Funding is available in two streams:
- A maximum of $25,000 per project is available to individual First Nations.
- A maximum of $50,000 per project is available to groups of three First Nations who are collaborating on a capacity building initiative.
In an effort to reduce project duplication and to share knowledge, deliverables from past projects are posted to the First Nations Technology Council/Knowledge Network Portal. Applicants are strongly encouraged to search the database for similar projects before submitting applications (Ex: HR policies). Click here to visit site.
Direct Support 2019-20 is now closed.
We hope to let nations know funding decisions in early June.
Please check back in March 2020 for information on 2020-21 Direct Support Funding.
Below is the Final Report template for nations with open files from previous years. For further guidance, please contact Marie Alaimo.
