Direct Support funding is intended to help First Nation communities build capacity in the areas that they need it most.
Funding has been allocated for direct support in 2020-21. Funding is available in two streams:
- A maximum of $25,000 per project is available to individual First Nations.
- A maximum of $50,000 per project is available to groups of three First Nations who are collaborating on a capacity building initiative.
In an effort to reduce project duplication and to share knowledge, deliverables from past projects are posted to the First Nations Technology Council/Knowledge Network Portal. Applicants are strongly encouraged to search the database for similar projects before submitting applications (Ex: HR policies). Click here to visit site.
2021-22 Funding application call for Direct Support opens June 1st until funds are exhausted, or December 7th at noon. Please check back on June 1st for the application and guidelines.
Only applications from BC First Nations that do not have an open Direct Support Project will be reviewed and considered for funding.
If you are unsure whether your nation has an open project, please email [email protected] to verify.
Below is the Final Report template for nations with open files from previous years. For further guidance, please contact Marie Alaimo.
