The New Relationship Trust (NRT) has announced that they are now accepting applications for the West Coast Energy Fund (WCEF). The West Coast Energy Fund (WCEF) was created in partnership between the Government of Canada (Strategic Partnerships Initiative – West Coast Energy (SPI-WCE)) and the New Relationship Trust (NRT).

The WCEF is a $4.5 million fund that is available to facilitate Indigenous participation in West Coast energy developments, and address related priorities and interests (including, for example, environmental priorities). Funds will be fully dispersed in 2018-19 on a project basis in the form of a non-repayable contribution.

A maximum of $200,000 per project will be available where one (1) eligible Indigenous organization is involved.

A maximum of $500,000 per project will be available where two (2) or more partnering eligible Indigenous organizations are involved.
