Strategic Initiatives

The New Relationship Trust supports initiatives in five areas: Education, Governance, Culture & Language, Youth & Elders, and Economic Development. These five areas reflect the priorities of our First Nation communities.

Our Education Initiatives encourage First Nation youth to pursue higher education and help communities to implement local education initiatives for high school youth. Read more.

Governance capacity initiatives help build capacity within First Nations communities so they can effectively participate in and benefit from land-use planning, resource revenue-sharing, and economic development opportunities. Read more.

Culture & Language Initiatives protect and preserve our First Nation languages and increase the number of trained teachers of those languages. Read more.

Youth & Elders Initiatives support initiatives at the community level. Read more.

Economic Development support is focused on the creation of a province-wide strategic direction for our First Nation communities to further their individual and collective economic development goals. Read more.
