Direct Support

Direct Support funding is intended to help First Nation communities build capacity in the areas that they need it most.

A total of $1 million has been allocated for direct support in 2011-2012. Funding is available in two streams:

• A maximum of $25,000 per project is available to individual First Nations
• A maximum of $50,000 per project is available to groups of three First Nations who are collaborating on a capacity building initiative.

Application process has now been closed. Funds are now allocated with 41 projects funded in 2011-12 .
